Indianapolis, IN — From Thursday, September 16 to Sunday, September 19, Gridopolis Games will make its Gen Con debut with Indianapolis’ own Continuum Games at Booth 1813, located in the Family Fun Pavilion.
Gridopolis Games will showcase Gridopolis, an innovative 3D tabletop game for 1 to 4 players, ages 8 and up. With familiar rules from checkers, chess, and tic-tac-toe, Gridopolis is fast and easy to learn, and setup takes just minutes. Players move, jump, and build their way to victory -- all in three dimensions!
“We developed Gridopolis to push the boundaries of what tabletop strategy games can be,” said Dave Schultze, Founder and GEO of Gridopolis Games. “We greatly anticipate meeting everyone and showing gamers the amazing potential of playing strategy games in 3D.”
The modularity of the Gridopolis system promotes key STEM / STEAM skills, from planning to creativity to abstract thinking to cooperation and analysis. Gridopolis challenges players to think outside the bounds of traditional, flat games and encourages free exploration through custom, step-by-step game design.
These were just a few factors considered when Gridopolis was named to Purdue University’s Engineering Gift Guide, a hand-selected catalogue of toys, games, puzzles, and books shown to engage children and teens, ages 10 months to 18 years in engineering thinking and design. The guide is curated by the INSPIRE Research Institute for Pre-College Engineering.
